BUREAU VALLEY INVITE The Rebels Boys and Girls cross country teams ran at the Bureau Valley Invite on Saturday September 21st. With the threat of rain and the course already soft, the Invite was shortened to a Girls 3 mile race and a Boys 3 mile race (F/S boys was canceled). The Rebels Girls had only five participating in the Girls race. Three Girls sat the race out due to health reasons and the other had family commitments. The 5 Girls that ran for the Rebels had a good run with the team finishing 9th out of 17 teams. Ashley Orrick lead the way with a season best time of 22:03 good for 33rd place. Paige Rewerts was next across the finish line in 41st place (22:19) followed by Trinity Shimmin (22:57 - 55th), Alyssa Dyken (23:29 - 71st) and Sarah Fairfield (25:58 - 122nd). Like the Girls, the Boys were missing a runner therefore not having the 5 runners required for a team score. Caden Daum was the first finisher for the Boys with a time of 19:59 good for 92nd place. Payton Stahl (20:23 - 117th), Rilley Bowen (20:40 - 131st) and Brett Browning (20:57 - 142nd) were the other finishers for the Rebels. Bowen's time was a new Personal Best for him by a minute and 34 seconds. Browning's time was a new season best for him. There were 180 finishers in the Girls race and 259 finishers in the Boys race. There were 30 schools at the Invite. All in all a good day of racing for all the Rebel participants!!!
